आज़ाद हिन्द फ़ौज का गठन नेताजी सुभाष चन्द्र बोस द्वारा भारतीय स्वातन्त्र्य संघर्ष के महनीय यज्ञ में दी गयी पूर्णाहुति के समान था। हजारों की सेना “दिल्ली चलो” के उद्घोष के साथ बर्मा के रास्ते मणिपुर की तरफ कूच कर गयी थी और “तुम मुझे खून दो, मैं तुम्हें आज़ादी दूँगा” जैसे आह्वान को सुनकर उन दिलेरों ने मानो भारत-माता के चरणों का लाल महावर से शृंगार ही किया था …
