Engineers Day! Birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, the pride of the nation! Tributes to the Bharat Ratna!
Youthful are the engineers of India. Brainy brains they have. They have served the country a lot and continue to do the same. Let us have a quick glance over the years of the technological advancements of independent India. Right since the independence in 1947, we have come a long way from building the dams and the buildings to metallurgical advancements to Green, White, Blue and IT Revolutions to Nuclear developments to world-class medical facilities. Our engineers have made it possible. They have made us grow. They have built this new India. Let us salute them all.
But we still lack in infrastructure. Why is it so? We still have to rely on import of technology. Why so? Again the fault of policy makers? Yes, and No!
Yes, because they act debased. They are not committed to the betterment of the country and all those factors about them which we are fully aware of. No, because we also do not act against these policies. We also contribute to what and how they do. Why do we let them do so? Also, we become selfish when we get an opportunity to go out, never to return. Yes, this is about Brain-Drain. The best brains go outside the country to serve other people, other economies, other infrastructures, to our loss. What this problem is actually about? Does it mean that we should not accept opportunities? Should we not make our future better? So, answer to this is simple that we should go out to study, to make a bright career and to excel in it, to make wealth; but to come back well in time that our country can make the best use of ours which she has got every right to do of. There are many examples who went out for better future, made wealth and came back to serve the motherland and their brethren here. This is something that comes from within.
Also, we need to look for the cause of brain drain. In addition to the lack of opportunities, we have a severe problem at the ground level that we do not appreciate our talent. We strangle them at the moment they want to sprout out and when we awake, it becomes too late. What we must do is that we should give a timely acknowledgement and appreciation, appropriate livelihood conditions with decent earnings and proper atmosphere to the talents to showcase themselves. Then we can utilize our brain powers better for our collective and mutual growth.
May we produce engineers with quality! May we provide our human resource with better opportunities!
We wish you all good! 🙂
